Historical Context and Archaeological Research Design for the Antelope Valley Study Area, Los Angeles and Kern Counties, California, 2019, Cultural Resources Unit California Department of Transportation District 7. Co-author on guide for the Department’s investigations of Native American archaeological resources in the Antelope Valley region. Prepared extensive inventory and GIS dataset of geoarchaeological sensitivity based on geological, geomorphological, and archaeological information.
SR-138 Northwest Corridor Improvement Project, Antelope Valley, Caltrans District 7, Los Angeles County; 2014-2015. Geoarchaeologist for an Extended Phase I Assessment for State Route 138 Northwest Corridor Improvement Project. Compiled and analyzed maps and other data on near-surface geologic deposits and landforms within the Project ROW to assess their potential to contain buried archaeological resources. Prepared ROW geoarchaeologic sensitivity map and co-authored report of findings
Stateline Solar Farm Project, Ivanpah Valley, San Bernardino County, First Solar Development, LLC, 2014-2016. Geoarchaeologist for Stateline Solar Farm PV Project adjacent to Ivanpah Lake on lands managed by the U.S. Bureau of Land Management (BLM). Prepared geoarchaeological research design and conducted a geoarchaeological assessment of the 2,143-acre Project area to characterize the surface and subsurface soils and assess potential for buried archaeological deposits. Prepared a detailed sensitivity map with projected depth to buried paleo-surface(s) and report of findings. Reviewed and provided contextual framework and stratigraphic correlation for multiple features discovered during project construction.
Desert Sunlight Solar Farm Project, Desert Center Vicinity, Riverside County, 2010. Geoarchaeologist for the 4,400-acre Desert Sunlight Solar Farm located near Desert Center on lands managed by the BLM. Conducted a geoarchaeological assessment of the proposed solar farm area for incorporation into the Class III cultural resources inventory. Characterized the near-surface geologic deposits and landforms to assess their potential for buried archaeological deposits. Tasks included background review of various datasets, maps, and aerial imagery, field mapping and test pit profiles, resource map and report preparation.
